This was one of the few songs that my middle sister could sing the melody unsupported, while our oldest sister and I sang low and high harmony. We sang this for Daddy when he was in the ICU. All the other families came out of their rooms and listened to us. We did that again for him just before he died. Today is the anniversary of his death. I miss my dad.
My dad back in the 40’s in San Fernando Valley used to go across to Roy Rogers place and have oatmeal for breakfast and ride horses. They were very nice people.
