The more transistors the better. The cheap $10 radios had only 2 transistors, and could only get the most powerful local stations. Six transistor radios could get all local stations, and some distant stations at night. More expensive models, from $30 to $50 had twelve or more transistors, and could get AM stations from much of the country at night.

Some pretty sugar babes! Beautiful girls--good song too! I was about 12 when this was on the charts.

Nice job, WCF1000 excellent mix on the vid.  I had one of the first transistor radio in my neighborhood An Emerson the size of a car battery. thing took like 12 batteries. Rayovac cleaned up !

A 3" x 4" radio (or thereabouts). I was a transistor sister until my Dad refused to buy me any more batteries, 1961.

My transistor miss these days.
