Missing verse:"When I was a colleen, the marching and drillingAwoke by the glenside sounds awesome and thrillingFor they loved dear old Ireland, and to die they were willingGlory O, glory O, to the bold Fenian men."

Apparently you are not familiar with the evolution of names in America. I will say this once again. My name was once McCutcheon which is not Anglo-Saxon. The Mc was dropped and it became Cutchen; then an s was making it Cutchens..a family feud caused some members to change their surname to Kitchens. The early census takers in the USA often spelled the name as it sounded to them. The majority of my heritage is Gaelic. You are obviously very ignorant of the way surnames changed in the USA.

I hold no animosity toward the English people in general. It was their government that did the damage by trying to rule the world by colonizing and oppressing people wherever they could. Peaceful means would not have worked here in the USA as it did in India so we had to resort to violence in order to drive them out. Unfortunately a nation borne out of violence usually remains violent. When we ran out of people to fight we fought each other. American Civil War. Very sad indeed.

Never felt McCanns voice was a good addition to the Dubliners. Good in singer in his own right though. Would have preferred Ronnies rawness for this song

Are you from the USA? If you are then you should know how names have evolved here.
