Never liked the version of the group called the "Cyrcle" .... and hearing it now as a "folk" song by Simon & Garfunkel, was really nice.. .. Very well done and it really did sound like a good "folk" song !! .. Funny how things worked like that in the past !! ..

If I remember correctly, S&G put it on their debut album - part of their early career British phase tour - album called "Wednesday Morning at 3 am"... After which their hit album - The Sounds of Silence - and part of their famous tracks /music on the Mega hit 60s movie "The Graduate" .. tracks like Mrs Robinson, April, Sounds of Silence, Parsley Sage Rosemary & Thyme - Canticle .. the interwoven double traditional English folk songs - brought their genius to the wider Global audience ! Who loved them and started a long love affair with their fabulous, inspired, genius in music ! - A devoted fan from the 60s ! Knew virtually every song they put out !!

The versions by Cyrkle, the Seekers and Simon and Garfunkle are all good in their own way. The irony is that it was a hit for the Cyrkle, but they had nothing to do with the writing of it. Whereas Simon and Woodley (of the Seekers) did.

If they never recorded it, then this live version is truly a treasure. Great song.
